Understand the Issues Surrounding the Zimmer Durum Cup

Today there are specialized durom lawyer that are prepared to assist patients that experience failure as a result of a Zimmer durum cup implant. This device has failed in many patients, and the failures usually occur within one to two years after hip socket replacement surgery. Failure causes a great deal of pain, and patients need to have surgery to correct the problem. If this sounds like something you’ve experienced or are going through now, be prepared to take legal action.

Lawyers who are very familiar with the issues on zimmer durom cup have already helped hundreds of patients file durom lawsuit against the company. Zimmer suspended sales of the durum cup in July, 2008, but they have yet to acknowledge that the cup is defective. Instead, they site surgical errors as the cause for the failures. At the same time, Zimmer does admit that the labeling on the cup’s package and the instructions included with it could have lacked detail.

Yet doctors, several government agencies and patients themselves have a hard time believing so many surgeons would make errors when implanting the device. Failures are so widespread and consistent, it’s widely believed the device itself is defective, which is why patients are entitled for compensation in the event of failure.
