8.30-9.00 Coffee and Pastries!
9.00-9.50 – "Windows Marketplace for Developers" Rasmus Beck – Jayway
You've built the perfect app, and just know that everyone and their mom is going to love it. But how do you get it out to the masses? Windows Marketplace is where you want to be!
This session will take you through the steps that you need to take in order to get your app out into the public, and to start making money. All the way from registeration to using the Marketplace Preparation Test Kit and finally submitting it, (and the pitfalls to avoid). In short… build it and they will come!
Rasmus Beck has been developing for the Windows platform for more than a decade and a half, and if he didn't already believe in the platform, the advent of Metro UI definitely made a believer out of him. Rasmus works as a senior developer for Jayway Denmark, and has a passion for mobile devices!
9.50-10.00 Mini Break!
10.00-10.50 – "Metro XAML – What I have learned so far" Peter von Lochow – Jayway
With BUILD came Windows 8, with Windows 8 came WinRT. But what does it all mean? This session will address this question as well as look closer on async and how to use Windows 8 charms to merge your application closer to the OS than ever before. It will also aim to answer the biggest question of them all – What role WinRT plays in our brave new world and what happened to .NET?
Peter has extensive experience with Azure and as of recent, been working with Windows Phone and Windows 8. "As soon as I got my hands on my slate at BUILD, I became a total Win8 enthusiast". Peter is a believer in being a community contributor, creating seminars and speaking at events such as TechDays, Prosa(DK), Azure Summit, and Örebro University. Catch Peter during the pauses and he will be delighted to share and discuss how he envisions the implementation of the next generation of Apps.
10.50-11.00 Mini Break!
11.00-12.00 "Metro HTML5 – The bits and Pieces" Per Ökvist – Jayway and Closing
Cross competence: Building Apps leveraging an OS with web tech. Sounds good!
Which is pure HTML 5 and what are OS APIs? And, what do they offer ? What is the development experience ? Is it possible to use my favorite client frameworks ?
Many questions arise when one begins to consider it. In this session, I hope to answer some of these queries with a broad look at the bits and pieces concerning Metro app development with web tech.
Per is a senior consultant on Jayway's .NET team, focusing on web solutions and architecture, often assisting clients with MVC-related projects. He has held sessions at TechDays, DevCon11 and Jayway seminars, on ASP.net, MVC, HTML5 and related technologies.
Per believes that HTML5/Javascript platforms in the development of Metro applications will be a winning move.
12.00-13.00 Delicious Sandwich Lunch and Networking!
