Most people who get errors when they’re trying to open certain files on their computer aren’t sure what to do. The error messages don’t make a lot of sense to them and often they don’t think it’s important enough to look into. They’re afraid that they’ll somehow make the problem worse or that they won’t be able to understand what the problem is. The truth, though, is that many of these types of programs can be fixed by simply making sure that each File Extension type is associated with the right program.
Put simply, your computer has an internal list of what program to use for each File Extension. For example, if you’re trying to open a photo, your computer will have a photo viewing software listed as the default program to open that photo and view it. When you click on a photo, your computer will automatically open the appropriate program and use it to view the photo.
However, if your Computer File Extension registry isn’t correct and your computer can’t use the program it has listed, you’ll get an error message and be unable to open the file. A quick registry check and fix can clear this problem up in no time and is easy for anyone to do.
